Tell me more about the garage

A 'Hot Pass' allows you access to almost any part of the track during a race event - including the pits and garage areas. The main benefit of a hot pass, is that you can remain in the garage or pit areas, even after the track goes "hot" (when cars are on the track). We just had to make sure to take a lot of pictures with his logo on the car. The tickets cannot be purchased. Our children do not go into the ocean without this wetsuit, and it is fantastic for snorkeling.

We decided to bring our children with us to experience this once in a lifetime opportunity. With the Hot Passes, we could have attended the practice and qualifying as well, but we only went on Sunday to watch the race. We arrived at the track before gates opening so we could pick up our Hot Passes at the credentials office. We then made our way inside the garage area. Jeffery was amazing towards us, as well as other fans who approached him asking for an autograph and picture.

With spending the whole day at the races, we probably walked 5 to 7 miles that day. We walked back and forth from the pit area, race track, and walked through each row in the garage to look at all the cars and haulers, before the race beginning. We were intrigued watching the cars go through inspection, passing or having to go back to the garage to make adjustments.

If the car passed inspection, then the crew pushed the car to pit road. When it was time to follow Jeffery to pit road, we made sure to stick close to him. If not, we would not have been able to go due to not having a hard card. While each driver made their lap around the track in the truck, waving to fans in the stands, we stood by his car and waited for him. Once he made his way around the track from his intro, he posed by the car and took a few pictures with us.

After the prayer and National Anthem, we made our way off pit road and headed towards the pit box, while the drivers were getting fastened in. The race can be very loud with all the engines going, so we rented radio headsets for our children and brought ear plugs for us.

The headsets are very cool because sitting on the pit box; we were limited with only seeing a fraction of the track. The kids were able to listen to the crew talk to each other, which they loved. It was amazing to watch the pit crew change the tires and fuel up. It took them less than 20 seconds. Those young men are in shape because those tires and fuel tank are not light. However, watching in person was unbelievable. Our children now ask more questions about the races, but mostly about Jeffery.

I know Jeffery Earnhardt is currently without a ride, but he sure has this family rooting for him to get picked up again in the near future. Truly once in a lifetime opportunity. Family Life. Transitioning Your Child to a New School. You Might Also Like. Growing a Garden. Family Life Food.
